I've had cats my whole life, specifically Maine Coons.

For my last three Maine Coons, I fed them only Science Diet. Started with a kitten formula when they were little, switched to an adult mix as they grew, and then a prescription formula for the seniors.

I wanted to give them the best food available, and they all seemed to enjoy it.

Tragically, one female passed away as an adult, and the diagnosis was liver cancer.

Then, five years later, another adult female also died, same diagnosis: liver cancer.

I thought it was just a coincidence.

But then, five years after that, my third adult Maine Coon also died, and guess what? Liver cancer again. I was heartbroken.

The only common factor among all three was their food: Science Diet. I did some digging and found out it’s loaded with chemicals. The liver’s job is to filter out toxins, so it makes sense that all three cats were under stress. I started to think that maybe Science Diet Pet Food was to blame.

I’ll probably never know for certain, but that uncertainty will always stick with me.

I’m giving it three stars, and I really hope I’m wrong about it being harmful.
